Construction Schedule
The Downtown Streetscape Project will be constructed in three (3) phases. Phase I will commence in April 2011 and focus on completion of the improvements in the vicinity of the Douglas Block. Primary activities will include construction of the storm drainage improvements, utility upgrades (water & sewer), reconstruction of NE Main Street from East Thomas Street to Goldleaf Street, installation of the pedestrian level light fixtures and electrical infrastructure, irrigation, and signing, signal, and pavement markings. It is estimated that Phase I will be completed in July 2011. Phase II will run concurrent with end of Phase I and will include construction of the improvements along Main Street from Hill Street/Western Avenue to Thomas Street. Work will begin in May 2011 and focus on the storm drainage improvements on the west side of the railroad (Phase II-A). As this work progresses, work will begin on the utility improvements, earthwork and grading, curb and gutter improvements, and paver installation. Once complete, work will begin on reconstruction of the street lighting and signing, signal, and pavement marking improvements. It is estimated that Phase II-A will be completed in October 2011. Work on Phase II-B will be the east side of the railroad between Hill Street/Western Avenue and Thomas Street. Work is scheduled to begin in September 2011 and follow a sequence similar to that associated with Phase II-A. It is estimated that Phase II-B will be completed in December 2011. The final phase of the project, Phase III, will include those improvements from Hill Street/Western Avenue to the Train Station. Work is scheduled to begin in February 2012 and follow a sequence similar to that in Phase II. It is estimated that Phase III will be completed in June 2012.
